“I’m a PC… I’m a Mac”….

The famous commercials by Apple have had a huge impact in the number of converts from the Microsoft Windows world into the world of Apple’s Mac OS. Apple’s ads went from being funny, to slanderous and just plain mean. What started off as a marketing campaign has begun to have a crippeling effect for Apple and the opposite is starting to happen where long term Apple Fans have began to make the change back to Microsoft Windows because of a change in the fundamental philosophies that Apple was once proud of.

The entire time the world kept on asking why Microsoft wasn’t fighting back. Microsoft’s philosophy, “we are better than that.”

Well you can only push so far until the gloves come off. Introducing the beginning of a $300 Million dollar marketing campaign by Microsoft. Introducing the “new” version of Windows, Microsoft Windows Mojave.

Microsoft invited over 150 Mac, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Linus users into a market research facility in San Francisco. They then asked, “What do you think about Vista?” Needless to say, Windows Vista wasn’t as popular as Microsoft had hoped. The participants were then shown a new Windows product in the making, codenamed “Windows Mojave”. I can only imagine that some of the features shown were Flip 3D, Movie Maker, DVD Maker, Parental Controls, Security, Compatibility, Windows Media Center, Dream-Scene, and many other Vista Features.

Asked what they thought of “Windows Mojave”, and people couldn’t wait to go buy it for themselves. Some people even called it futuristic and a Mac killer. It’s plain to see that Mac’s days are numbered…

To see the incredible work, go to: http://www.mojaveexperiment.com/

That article went on to be the most popular one that I have written. It has been viewed 500 times, and been linked by at least 7 other bloggers.

In doing my initial research, I came across a similar article by Phil Gerbyshack of Make It Great With Phil. In his article, he listed his phone number for people to call to hear his voicemail greeting. So I thought, what the heck, and called this man from Milwaukee.

I didn’t get the chance to listen to his voicemail because he answered the phone. We ended up talking for about 10 minutes. Since then, I consider Phil one of my mentors in the Blogging Community. Not only has he always been available to answer my questions, but always finds the time to talk to me about his wonderful Brewers!

His website, Make It Great With Phil, is an incredible website filled with tips and tricks about making life Great! Please take the time to check his website out, you will enjoy it.

Now as always, everything is centered on Personal Development, so even the movies will be reviewed with that in mind.

The first movie is the new Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, book 5 in the 7-part series. I am going to try to stay away from any spoilers, but just in case, read at your own risk.

Although most people are saying that this is the worst of the 5 movies so far, I found it to be the best because of the leadership skills that Harry discovers were in him all along. So far our hero Harry has found himself isolated, fighting alone for the good side against Lord Voldimort and his evil minions. Up to this point, although he had the support of his friends, he had been going at it alone. All that changed when he realized, through the help of his friends, that he is not alone. Up to now he kept the ones that he loves at a distance, trying to protect them, but it only ended up hurting him. Now he embraces their support and has the role of being a leader thrust upon him. His teaching methods are one based off of real life and not out of a book.

An example of this is the Patronus Charm, which Harry learned in book 3- The Prisoner of Azkaban. This is a spell that is supposed to be very difficult to learn and is too advanced for students Harry’s age. Not only did Harry master it, but he was able to teach it to many students his age. This shows his ability as a teacher, as well as demonstrates the loyalty of those that believe him. Harry only becomes powerful enough to take on Voldimort’s mininions when he has an internal conversation with his sub-conscious. This transformation is very similar to the one that Aragorn has in Lord of the Rings.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie for the growth that Harry Potter goes through, as well as his realization that he is not alone.

Why not fill your player instead with personal development or motivational information? It is very easy to turn your audio CDs into an MP3 files, purchase MP3 file audio CDs, or download free audio CDs from various websites on the internet. One of the best sites that I have found is http://www.mp3motivators.com

Also, MP3 players have become very inexpensive. My recommendation would be either the Creative Stone which can load 10 CDs and it is very reasonably priced at $40 or the Creative Zen Stone Plus which can load about 20 CDs, FM Player, Clock, Voice Recorder, and Stopwatch, priced around $70. They are also small enough (about the size of 2 quarters), to where you can take it with you everywhere

One of the most influential books I have read is by author/speaker Brian Klemmer, titled If How-To’s Were Enough We Would All be Skinny, Rich and Happy. Long title, but right to the point.

Have you noticed all of the “How-To” books that are at the book store? There is a “how-to” for everything these days. Simple steps to follow that will make you a millionaire, a better lover, get out of debt, take better photos, etc. Do they really work though? Well to get right to the point of Brian Klemmer’s book, if How-To’s really were enough, then we all really would be skinny, rich, and happy. But the truth is that they don’t work!

The reason that they don’t work is that people have a hard time with commitment, an intention! If I asked you right now to cross the room, each way a different way, you could do it for a while. You would walk across, run, jump, backward, cartwheel, crawl, etc. But sooner or later, you would run out of different ways to cross. Ok, now if I offered you $1,000 to keep going… guess what… now all of a sudden you CAN think of more ways.

What changed? The same challenge was still there, but now, you had intention. The same thing with New Years Resolution. Come February no one even remembers what they had promised themselves. Part of that is because they didn’t have true intention, but also because they weren’t specific enough. There is a huge difference between “This year I’d like to lose weight and get healthy” and “By March 15th I am going to lose 12 pounds by walking 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week”.

This book was so eye opening for me that I began to make drastic changes in my life. I also took great strides forward in my personal development by attending Brian Klemmer’s Seminars. Were the seminars and the book effective? Well, this website should speak for itself

I highly recommend purchasing this book right now. You can get it for as low as $5 from Amazon.
