In a world built on instant gratification, we take few steps towards anything that we don&#8217;t see immediate results from. Let&#8217;s take&#8230; ah&#8230; I don&#8217;t know&#8230; smoking. Here is what happens to your body the INSTANT you stop smoking:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>In 20 minutes</strong> your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.</li>
<li><strong>In 8 hours</strong> the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.</li>
<li><strong>In 48 hours</strong> your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.</li>
<li><strong>In 72 hours</strong> your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase.</li>
<li><strong>In 2 weeks</strong> your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the next 10 weeks.</li>

First off, getting fresh air into your lungs will relax your entire body and help you relieve stress. Also, by getting some sun, your body will produce Vitamin D, which helps to maintain a healthy immune system and also increases the absorption of Calcium, strengthening bones.</p>
<p>Make it a goal to spend 5 minutes outside everyday. Not while running your errands or the walk to get the mail, but actually go outside, stand for 5 minutes, take some deep breaths, and just let go. <p class="MsoNormal">A while back ago I was having a conversation with a person who had bad breath. I wondered how many other people also felt he had bad breath, but never told him because they didn’t want to hurt his feelings. Then it hit me, what if I am that guy? The guy with the bad breath that nobody will tell on the count of they don’t want to hurt my feelings.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Since then, I always carry around breath mints with me, and I always pop one in before I am meeting with someone. Here are some interesting facts about bad breath:</p>
<ul>
<li>65% of the population is believed to have bad breath</li>
<li>The number reason why people don&#8217;t purchase from a salesman is because of their breath</li>
<li>The Romans believed that the cure for bad breath was strawberries</li>
<li>Dry mouth is a major cause of bad breath</li>
<li>90% of bad breath is caused by bacteria on the back of your tongue</li>
<li>You should rinse your mouth after Coffee, Milk products, meat, and fish</li>
<li>Not flossing your teeth everyday is the same as not brushing your teeth for 2 weeks</li>
</ul>
<p>I would recommend brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing, and using a powerful mouth wash. Also, use breath mints and sugarless gum. You might also want to ask someone you trust to be honest if you have bad breath. Start to notice patterns of bad breath associated with food and then work on eliminating those foods or using mouth wash afterwards. I just got done drinking some coffee over at Cutters Point Coffee on Lacey Blvd so I better go brush my teeth now&#8230;

<p>Does it come as a surprise to learn that only 1 out of every 9 people knows how to breathe correctly? The average person inhales about 2,500 gallons of air each day during 20,000 to 26,000 breaths, at the rate of 15 to 18 inhales per minute. This rate, which is considered “normal”, is actually too fast! This faster breathing, hyperventilation, takes 20% more energy than breathing from the diaphragm.</p>
<p>Deep breathing stimulates and massages your internal organs, tones the diaphragm and abdominal muscles. When you exhale, 70% of your body’s toxins are released. That is the reason that deep breathing is so powerful and a natural detoxifier.</p>
<p>Look at a baby when it is laying down, and pay attention to how it breathes. The baby’s stomach will go up and down because it is breathing through its diaphragm. To begin breathing properly, perform the following exercise. First you have to find out if you are breathing properly or not. Lay down comfortably and place one hand on your abdomen and one on your chest. Take a deep</p>
<p>breath and notice if your hands rise and fall during inhale and exhale or if your chest does. If you are breathing properly, your chest will stay still while your stomach will rise and fall. To start the exercise, follow these steps:</p>
<ol>
<li>Slowly inhale through your nose to the count of 5, pushing your hands up with your stomach.</li>
<li>Hold your breath for another count of 5</li>
<li>Slowly exhale through your mouth for a count of 5, while letting your hands fall down.</li>
<li>Repeat this process for 5 minutes.</li>
<li>When you feel comfortable with this exercise, do it for at least 5 minutes twice a day.</li>
</ol>
<p>In about a week, you will notice increased energy and an alert focus you haven’t felt in a long time.</p>
