Tips: My Breath Mint Addiction

Post

My name is Rohit Rohila, and I am addicted to Breath Mints. Years ago I was sitting on an airplane on my way to Kansas City. I was having a very painful conversation with a gentlemen who was sitting next to me. Painful because his breath smelt worse than anything I had ever been around in my life. I felt bad for the guy, I mean he probably didn’t even know he had bad breath. No one really comes up to you and says, “Hey, you have bad breath, think about brushing your teeth a little more often.”

Then it hit me… what if… I AM that guy? The guy with the bad breath that people are just too polite not to make me aware of it. So since then, I always carry around breath mints and pop them in my mouth all of the time.

I have also taken several steps to prevent bad breath. For more information, read Is Your Breath Hurting You?

That’s so funny, cuz so am I. Ever since I read the bad breath bible – http://www.thebadbreathbible.com, I’ve been so conscious about my breath that I can’t talk to someone without popping a mint (esp. after I eat). Have you tried “French Kiss” gum by Dr. Harold Katz? That’s my favorite. You gotta try this. Here’s the link so you won’t have to look for it – http://www.therabreath.com/productdetail.asp?cat=5&pid=300.
Dr Katz also wrote this interesting article about the evolution of chewing gum – http://www.therabreath.com/art_chewinggum.asp.
    Happy chewing! :)

I have been addicted to mints for about 2 years now,(I also was, when I was pregnant many years ago) I have looked on sites, and although someone suggested that mint addiction was because of being anaemic I didn’t think that applied to me.
This week I got results of a blood test as I have being feeling a bit tired, and having heart palpitations, and guess what I am anaemic, and have far too little haemoglobin in my red blood cells. So that suggestion WAS right. Another thing people eat with anaemica apparently is licorice, and I have also been chewing madly on licorice flavoured chewing-gum. I urge anyone eating a lot of mints to please get your blood tested.

i am addicted to mint. mint shampoo, mint shower gel, mint soap, mint lotion, mint lip balm, mint everything. every single day of my life i have to have mint, otherwise i’d feel so sick. i have no idea why. but yes, i’m also anemic. i have always been. this is the first time i’ve heard about a connection between mint and anemia. maybe i need to do more research. not that i want to let go of my love for mints(yes, it is pure love for me), but it would be interesting to know if it actually affects the body physically. great point mandy! thanks!

I have a mint addiction specifically to Lifesaver
Spearmint mints. It has been a year now that I have
been addicted an it seems to be getting worse.
I’m constantly eating them and have multiple bags
around at all times. In the car, my purse, the
pantry, etc. I really felt embarassed until I saw
this website. I feel too that this is very unhealthy
and it will come back to me in a bad way. ( Health
wise) I want to stop eating them because I feel its
getting out of hand and is really an addiction,
but I cannot stop eating them!
